.1st Castle In-depth DIRECT ACCESS - Big bike test.If you are over 21 you can take the direct access scheme test. This means that you will take your test on a larger motorcycle (we us 500cc bikes as the machine you take your practical test on has to be above 47bhp). Once you pass the practical tests on the larger bike you are un-restricted on power output and can ride any bike you like. The CBT is normally the first day of any course to get you out onto the road on "L" plates and then further training is undertaken to take you up to full test standard. If you are new to bikes then you are likely to need the 5/6 day beginner course, the start of any course is on a 125cc machine for the CBT and normally day 2, followed by the gradual introduction onto the larger machine (500cc) in order to gain the necessary experience to take the direct access full test. If you have completed a CBT but not done much more riding you may need a 4/5 day course. If you are a fairly experienced rider you may only need 3 / 4 days (inc. CBT). However it is best when working out which course will suit you best it is best to speak to us at the booking office and we can advise you as to the right course for you as all courses are tailored to suit you. The courses are designed for the Modular 1 practical test (off road manouvers) to be taken mid way through the training course and the Modular 2 practical test (on road 40 minute ride) to be taken at the end of the course. We also provide a free assessment lesson for people holding a current CBT certificate - this is perfect if you are not sure which course will be best for you as after we have seen you ride we can be very accurate about which course will be best for you to pass 1st time.
