ACU Licence Test
Jon at Brands hatch
Jon and Dan from BikeMoto are going to do their ACU licence test on Thursday 26th Jan with Club MSV, below is what they are going to do on the course, pictures and what they thought of it will be on our news blog when they've got back. They are both keen track day riders and so thought that they'd go for this so they can race or go on test days as well.
ACU Licence Test - Intermediate Novice Licence
Riders with a full (not 33bhp restricted) UK riding licence (or overseas equivalent) will need to complete a Compulsory Training Course (CTC) and On Circuit Riding Assessment to obtain and ACU licence an signature as follows:
CTC Classroom Course
The CTC Classroom Course is designed specifically to
ensure that you understand the basic safety and organisation
requirements to participate in any form of Road Racing or on
circuit activity like bike trackdays or test days.
As part of the classroom course, there will be a presentation
lasting approximately an hour followed by a multiple-choice
test.
On Circuit Riding Assessment
Our On Circuit Riding Assessment will enable you to gain a
signature on your race licence, entitling you to take part in bike
testing events.
You must be able to demonstrate that you are competant rider
on circuit and that you can lap consistantly in a safe
and controlled manner amongst other 'traffic', ultimately
assuring your instructor that you are safe and able to enter your
first race. To do this, you must be proficient in:
- Finding and riding on the racing line
- Using correct body positioning on the bike including positions for braking, accelerating, cornering, feet position and good vision.
- Good track etiquette and safe overtaking including safe entry / exit from the pit lane
Once completed you will be able to apply for your ACU race licence with signature, entitling you to take part in both bike trackdays and test days.
